My Mission

Once I raised my hand to join the military and do my part in defending our country. Now I’m raising it again.

I’m a conservative leader serving the Texas State Board of Education District 15, which includes the Permian, Plains, and Panhandle.

I believe in bringing traditional values back to our schools and raising up future generations on a course for prosperity.

For Our Children
All children should have the opportunity to receive an education that will set them up for a positive life. I dream that future generations will have the same opportunity for prosperity as we have had.

We should be teaching our children to love themselves, their families, their neighbors, their state, and their country.

We need a return to a day when we were proud of America’s progress in creating a positive force for good in the world.

I believe we are closer to realizing Reverend King’s dream when we focus on the things we have in common, not the ways in which we are different.
To Battle for Our Future
Critical Race Theory is a form of Marxism, is tearing us apart, and has no place in our schools.

While it’s no longer allowed to be taught, we must remain vigilant for the re-introduction via rebranding or outright defiance.

The pandemic forced us to learn more about our kids’ education. We see what’s going on in our schools. And we don’t like it.

The Texas State Board of Education is responsible for approving the curriculum standards and instructional materials (textbooks) of the over 5 million school children in Texas…over 10% of the children in the entire country!

The SBOE is the next place to push back against what we are seeing and stand up for what we value.
For Fiscal Responsibility
The Permanent School Fund, which has $56 billion in assets, needs proper board oversight from people who understand finance and financial markets.

I have successfully led multiple businesses and have worked with investment portfolios of industry-leading companies.

Accomplishments

No Woke Curriculum + Defending Parental Rights

Aaron has played a pivotal role in implementing policy to ensure Texas’ curriculum aligns with traditional American values and that parents have full access to educational materials.

We’re currently working on writing clear rules to safeguard our education system from any undesirable influences.

Library Books Oversight

As a gatekeeper for policies from Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC), Aaron has already taken a firm stance against influence from the American Library Association, focusing on materials inappropriate for children.

This commitment to protecting young minds will continue as we oversee library resources. This has been a critical step in stopping the sexualization of children in Texas public schools.

ESG + BlackRock

The State Board of Education is responsible for overseeing $56 billion in assets for the future of education, supported by Texas’ energy resources.

Aaron is dedicated to ending the Board’s involvement in ESG initiatives and associations, such as BlackRock, which are detrimental to our economy and values.

Although progress has been made in this area, there is more work to be done.

Meet Aaron

Husband. Dad. Texan. Air Force Veteran. Businessman. Conservative.

As the first in my family to graduate from college, I understand the importance of education and its power to change lives. I am a principles-based leader who consistently stands up for traditional American values.

I graduated from Canton High School in Canton, Texas and attended Texas A&M where I was the Deputy Corps Commander.

After graduating at the top of my class with Accounting and Finance degrees, I answered the nation’s call and served as an Air Force officer. My first assignment was in West Texas at Dyess AFB in Abilene.

As a C-130 pilot, I deployed twice and flew 120 combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.

After leaving active duty, I attended Harvard Business School, where I led the Republican Club and the Veterans Club. Following graduation, my wife and I enthusiastically returned to Texas.

As a newly-minted business executive, I led a commercial real estate company and managed a $450 million portfolio.

In 2018, our family moved to Midland to lead a small business. Living in the hub of the oil and gas industry, we’re strong proponents of the vital importance of our oil and gas industry to our nation and world.

My family has fallen in love with West Texas’s hospitality, freedom, and wildcatter spirit. We’re proud to call Midland our home.

My wife, Katelyn, is a Daughter of the Republic of Texas, with roots back to the “Come and Take It” cannon and the Battle of the Alamo. We have been blessed with two energetic boys and a baby girl.

Like many parents of young children, we are highly concerned about the direction of our schools.

In 2020, I was honored to be selected as a MAVPac Future40 winner, an award recognizing conservative young professionals across the country that embody the next generation of leadership in the public and private sector.

I am a proven fighter working to ensure educational accountability on the State Board of Education.
